The Terminator Fuzz is a modified version of the Terminal Fuzz, designed for fans of aggressive and distorted fuzz tones. It is based on the Shin-Ei FY2 Companion Fuzz, but with some added features and improvements. One notable difference is the addition of an extra transistor stage to boost the volume. This addresses the issue of the original circuit’s output being insufficient. This volume boost is also present in our FY2 model. The Terminator Fuzz also includes a tone section, allowing you to further shape the sound of the fuzz. The Voice control adjusts the midrange and frequency response, ranging from sharp and piercing to thick and beefy. The Treble control can be used to tame the harsh high-end tones. These two controls are highly interactive, so be prepared to spend some time tweaking and finding your desired sound. There is a small mistake on the circuit board, which requires the placement of a jumper between two of the pot pins to activate the tone section. This is a simple and easy fix, making it one of the simplest hacks ever.Overall, the Terminator Fuzz offers a unique and versatile fuzz experience, combining the classic Shin-Ei FY2 circuit with added volume and tone controls. It is perfect for those seeking splattery and aggressive fuzz tones.
