Phozer by runoffgroove.com
The Phozer is a guitar pedal that offers both a faux-phaser effect and a manual (wah pedal) mode. It was developed with simplicity in mind, using only two ICs and a minimal parts count. The circuit utilizes an orange Ross Phaser LFO with an LED/LDR for the best sweep and fewest parts. The filter section consists of two parallel filters tuned to different ranges, resulting in a thicker and more convincing effect. The dual-gang Resonance control acts like a phaser’s Depth control, and the Balance trimpot allows adjustment of the range swept by the LFO.
To add the manual sweep option, the Phozer uses a rocker pedal that varies the brightness of an LED, which in turn controls the filters for a wah-wah effect. The pedal recommends using the Bourns Life pot for its linear taper, allowing it to be wired in reverse without any issues. A 10k trimpot is used to set the brightness of the LEDs when the rocker pedal is in the toe-down position.
