Batwing by Madbeanpedals

The Batwing is a project that was created as a standalone version of the envelope filter section of the Maestro FSH. It retains the entire envelope section and includes a filter direction mod from the older Tonepad project. Some minor tweaks were made to the circuit, such as replacing the input buffer with a JFET and using a dual-gang 1MB pot for the REZ control instead of a single 2MB pot. The Decay range has been increased and a volume control has been added.

The controls on the Batwing are as follows:
– SENSE: Sets the overall sensitivity of the envelope follower that drives the swept filter.
– REZ: Sets the resonance peak of the filter.
– ATTACK: CCW (counter-clockwise) provides a slow envelope attack, while CW (clockwise) provides a fast attack.
– DECAY: CCW provides a very short envelope decay, while CW provides an extremely long decay.
– VOL: Controls the effect output level. The nominal output is unity, but a volume pot has been added to allow for turning down the volume in case of high REZ settings that cause a sharp volume spike. It is typically left all the way up.
– UP/DN: Sets the direction of the swept envelope, either upward or downward.

Note: The 1MB dual-gang pot used in this project may be out of stock at Tayda. Alternative approaches will be provided in the notes.
