The Florist is a chorus pedal that is based on the Little Angel chorus, a popular DIY design. It uses the PT-2399 chip to create a wide range of chorus and vibrato effects. The pedal has been expanded with additional features to make it more versatile. These features include width and feedback controls, a cleaner audio-through section, and running the PT2399 at a slightly higher voltage.
The controls on the Florist include:
– SPD: This controls the rate of the chorus or vibrato effect, ranging from slow to fast.
– DEPTH: This controls the depth of the chorus or vibrato effect, ranging from minimum to maximum.
– WIDTH: This control displaces the LFO waveform, creating uneven peaks and valleys. At the highest setting, it adds a “throb” effect.
– BLOOM: This control acts as feedback for the delayed output signal, creating pseudo-flange sounds when used with the WIDTH and DEPTH controls.
– BLEND: This control adjusts the mix between the dry and effect signal. At the CCW position, there is no effect mixing. At 1/2 up, it produces a chorus effect, and at CW, it produces a vibrato effect.
– VOL: This control adjusts the overall output volume of the effect.
The Florist offers a wide range of chorus and vibrato sounds, as well as the ability to create modulated weirdness beyond that. It is designed to be a versatile effect pedal without the complexity or expense of using a BBD/Clock to create the chorus effect.
