Schematics, circuits, PCBs and veroboards for guitar effects pedals.
The Fritter is an overdrive pedal based on the Hotcake™ from the 2000s. The pedal has a unique sound due to the absence of clipping diodes, but it is not harsh. It offers a balanced low to medium gain tone that sets it apart from other overdrive pedals.
There is a suggested modified version called the “mbp” version, which has less gain and a smoother bass response. This version includes a 220pF smoothing cap in the feedback loop of the IC and a smaller value cap in the Presence control. The modifications can be easily evaluated by breadboarding the circuit before making any permanent changes.
The controls on the Fritter pedal are straightforward. The DRIVE control adjusts the amount of gain, the PRESENCE control affects the overall tone, and the LEVEL control adjusts the output volume.
Overall, the Fritter offers a unique and balanced overdrive tone that can be further customized with the suggested modifications. It is a versatile pedal that can be easily integrated into any pedalboard setup.
