The Keeley Compressor is a boutique compressor pedal that is renowned for its ability to make instruments sound professionally recorded. It is a compressor with an expander/sustainer, meaning it can limit the peaks in your playing and add more and more gain as notes fade out. The four knobs version gives you lots of easy-to-reach compression options. The knobs are Attack, Clip, Sustain, and Volume. Attack is designed for bass players with high-output active pickups or active pedal boards with buffers. Clip is an Input Sensitivity Control, allowing you to use the pedal in the studio to run keyboards, drum machines, drum mics, and other line-level uses. Sustain sets the amount of sustain, and Volume sets the output volume level. With these controls, you can find the perfect sound for funk or lead playing, compressing the loudest notes and raising up softer ones, or get a singing sound that feeds back easily.
