Schematics, circuits, PCBs and veroboards for guitar effects pedals.
Kheiron Klon is a project inspired by the legendary Klon Centaur, an iconic overdrive pedal. It is designed to teach users about the different parts of the circuit and how they work. It allows users to switch between stock and modded versions, and in some cases, choose to use a fixed resistor or a trimpot to set the amount of resistance. The Kheiron Klon has three potentiometers: GAIN, TONE, and VOLUME. It also has nine switches: DIODE, GAIN, THICKNESS, TREBLE BOOST, 1994 MOD, ATTACK, BASS, BOTTOM, and BRIGHT. The last switch is a Buffered Bypass – True Bypass switch. The GAIN potentiometer controls the amount of gain added to the signal. The TONE potentiometer adjusts the tone of the signal, and the VOLUME potentiometer adjusts the overall volume. The DIODE switch changes the clipping diodes in the circuit, and the GAIN switch changes the gain structure of the circuit. The THICKNESS switch changes the amount of low-end frequencies, and the TREBLE BOOST switch adds more treble frequencies. The 1994 MOD switch adds a mid-range boost, and the ATTACK switch changes the attack of the signal. The BASS switch adds more bass frequencies, and the BOTTOM switch adds more low-end frequencies. The BRIGHT switch adds more high-end frequencies. Kheiron Klon is ideal for both beginners and advanced builders who want to learn more about how pedals work and modding. It allows users to experiment and learn from a board that gathers every conceivable mod.
