The Pitbull is a highly customizable version of the classic Silicon Tone Bender fuzz pedal. While the original Tone Benders were known for their germanium transistors, the Pitbull offers the option to explore the world of silicon-based fuzz tones. The circuit of the Pitbull is based on Mic Tester’s original SiTB design, but with added external controls for maximum tweakability. In addition to the standard Volume, Gain, and Tone controls, the Pitbull allows you to adjust the fatness of the input capacitor, the bias of the circuit, and even includes an optional starve control. The starve control allows you to manipulate the voltage supply to the circuit, resulting in unique and unpredictable fuzz tones. Combined with the bias control, which adjusts the operating point of the transistors, the Pitbull offers a wide range of sonic possibilities.Whether you’re looking for a massive, thick fuzz tone or a splattery, gated effect reminiscent of a dying battery, the Pitbull has got you covered. Its versatility and tweakability make it a dream come true for fuzz enthusiasts who love to experiment with different sounds.
