The Poison Apple Auto-Wah is a pedal that is inspired by the Mad Professor Snow White AutoWah. It features four controls: Sensitivity, Bias, Resonance, and Decay.
The Sensitivity control adjusts the input level at which the auto-wah effect is triggered. Turning it clockwise increases the sensitivity, making the effect more responsive to your playing dynamics. On the other hand, turning it counterclockwise decreases the sensitivity, requiring a stronger input signal to activate the effect.
The Bias control alters the bias voltage of the circuit, affecting the overall tone and character of the auto-wah. Rotating it clockwise increases the bias voltage, resulting in a brighter and more aggressive sound. Conversely, turning it counterclockwise lowers the bias voltage, producing a darker and smoother tone.
The Resonance control adjusts the resonance peak of the auto-wah filter. Increasing the Resonance knob enhances the pronounced “quack” or “wah” effect, while decreasing it creates a more subtle and smooth response.
The Decay control determines the speed at which the auto-wah effect fades out after the input signal drops below the sensitivity threshold. Rotating it clockwise increases the decay time, resulting in a longer and more sustained effect. Conversely, turning it counterclockwise shortens the decay time, providing a quicker release.
