The Range Master Germanium Treble Boost is a pedal that is based on the classic Dallas Range Master. It is known for being the foundation of many iconic tones. This version of the pedal has been retired, but a new version is now available. The original Range Master pedals used OC44 transistors, but these are extremely rare. As a result, the new version of the pedal offers a selection of different transistors, each with its own unique character. This allows you to experiment and find the transistor that suits your preferences.Additionally, the pedal is now also available without a transistor. This is useful if you have already sourced your own transistor and want to use it in the pedal. The pedal operates on a PNP (positive ground supply) configuration and can be powered by 2N404A or C128 transistors. If you are able to find a NPN transistor with low enough leakage, you can create a negative-ground version of the pedal. However, the company is currently out of stock on these transistors at their headquarters.
