Repeater – Vox Repeat Percussion by Fuzzdog

The Repeater – Vox Repeat Percussion is a quirky little effects pedal based on the Vox Repeat Percussion. It is designed to create a reverse-sawtooth tremolo-type effect, giving a choppy and percussive sound. The original version of the pedal cut the signal completely between beats, but this updated version includes an optional depth knob to control the choppiness and provide a wider range of effects. The pedal has been updated for more output and includes an internal volume trimmer to adjust the output level to your preference. It also features a switch to change the speed range available, with higher speeds producing a ring-modulation-like sound. Additionally, an extra input capacitor allows you to choose between the original thin tone or a normal, full-range tone. The kit comes with a tested 2N2646 transistor, which is the key component responsible for the magic of the effect. The latest version of the PCB includes an optional board-mounted micro-toggle switch or the option to wire a normal switch offboard. However, if you choose the micro-switch option, it requires precise soldering as the switch mounts over some solder pads. This makes it more suitable for experienced builders. Alternatively, a standard toggle switch can be mounted above the pots.Due to the nature of the effect, there may be some thumping or ticking in your signal. The updated PCB includes a trimmer to fine-tune the balance between the effect and the ticking sound to your liking. Overall, the Repeater – Vox Repeat Percussion is a fun and versatile effects pedal that can add a unique character to your guitar sound, especially when combined with fuzz and wah effects.
