Schematics, circuits, PCBs and veroboards for guitar effects pedals.
The Revv G2, G3, and G4 pedals are known for their modern high gain drive. This project is a chance to build your own version of this preamp in a box, with accurate OpAmps emulations of the purple and red channels from the Generator tube head. It has been chosen as the best pedal of 2018 by multiple specialized media. The circuit is based on the same principle of Tube-to-Jfet seen in many modern high gain pedals such as the Friedman Be-OD or the Wolfgang 5150. The G3 is known for its clarity, punch, and precision, while the G4 is more about a thick, saturated distortion. An extra order switch is included for free, allowing both pedals to be placed in the same enclosure. The 3-Band hybrid EQ consists of a Baxandall control for bass and treble, plus an active mid control after volume. This allows for a wide range of tones, while still maintaining definition in each frequency. An aggression switch is also included, which engages different settings of resistors and capacitors to change the gain on the first stage. The controls on the pedal are Gain, Volume, Bass, Treble, Mids, and Aggression Switch. The board has been designed to feature a special grill for the ground net to reduce unwanted noise.
