The Darkadiator by Parasit Studio
The Darkadiator by Parasit Studio is a unique DIY project that resulted in a Discrete PWM Fuzz with octave down and LFO modulation. Unlike the original Arcadiator, the Darkadiator is fully transistor-based, using only common ‘jellybean’ transistors and no IC’s.
The Darkadiator offers three main features: a straight square wave fuzz, an octave down effect, and the ability to combine both effects. It also has two modes to choose from: PWM or Lowpass.
The Width/Cutoff control allows you to adjust the intensity or cutoff frequency of the effect, giving you further control over the sound.
One of the standout features of the Darkadiator is the LFO modulation, which adds a unique touch to the fuzz. You can choose between two LFO modes: Chop or alternating octaves.
Additionally, the Darkadiator has a Control Voltage input for the LFO speed, allowing you to sync the modulation to an external source or control it in real-time.
