The Thumb Sucker Compressor is a compressor pedal that is inspired by the Engineer’s Thumb Compressor. It features several controls that allow you to shape your compressed sound.
The Attack control adjusts the speed at which the compression is applied to your signal. Turning it clockwise will result in a faster attack, while turning it counterclockwise will slow down the attack.
The Bright control is a toggle switch that adds a brightening effect to your compressed signal. When engaged, it enhances the high frequencies, giving your tone more clarity and presence.
The Release control determines how quickly the compression is released after the initial attack. Turning it clockwise will result in a longer release time, while turning it counterclockwise will shorten the release time.
The Level control adjusts the overall output level of the compressed signal. Turning it clockwise will increase the volume, while turning it counterclockwise will decrease it.
The Ratio control determines the amount of compression applied to your signal. Higher ratio settings will result in more pronounced compression, while lower settings will provide a more subtle effect.
The Threshold control sets the level at which the compression kicks in. Turning it clockwise will increase the threshold, requiring a higher input level to trigger the compression, while turning it counterclockwise will lower the threshold, making the compression more sensitive to lower input levels.
