Hummingbird is a tremolo pedal designed by EQD, based on the vintage “repeat percussion”. It is capable of producing a range of sounds from classic “50’s style” shimmering tremolo to a synthy, delay-like chop. It features a Depth, Level, Rate and Rate mode Switch control. The Rate mode Switch allows the user to switch between capacitors, altering the behavior of the tremolo. It also has the possibility of being plugged into an expression pedal and an optional Rate LED-diode. To improve the pedal, EQD have made a few adaptations, such as replacing the 2N2646 transistor with a 2N6027, and including a power filtering resistor and a high gain 2n5089 transistor. This ensures that the ticking of the LFO is quieter than the tremolo effect itself.
