The Binary Dual Fuzz offers bass players the ability to create a wide range of fuzz tones by blending two distinct voicings together. The first voicing is based on the Darkglass Microtubes B3K, providing a warm and vintage-flavored drive. The second voicing is unique and rare in guitar circuits, utilizing a single op-amp stage configured as a comparator to produce heavily distorted and synthesized square wave tones.
To control the fuzz tones, the Binary features a blend control that allows you to mix the two voicings in any ratio. This gives you the flexibility to dial in anything from vintage warmth to searing, gated chaos. Additionally, there are tone and volume controls that are applied to the fuzz after the blending process.
To maintain clarity and balance, the Binary also includes a clean blend control that mixes the fuzzed signal with the unadulterated clean signal. This allows you to preserve the low-end and dynamics of your bass while still achieving the desired fuzz tones.
The Binary is a direct clone of the Darkglass Duality Dual Fuzz Engine, meticulously traced by Aion FX in 2021. While some extra power filtering has been added for improved performance, the overall design and circuitry remain true to the original pedal.
Overall, the Binary Dual Fuzz offers bass players a versatile and powerful tool for creating a wide range of fuzz tones, from vintage warmth to aggressive and synth-like textures.
