The Fuzz Face with inverter is a variation of the classic Fuzz Face pedal, known for its iconic fuzz tone. This version includes a voltage inverter, allowing you to power positive-ground, PNP builds with a standard negative ground power supply. However, if you prefer to use NPN transistors or power your PNP circuit with an isolated supply or battery, the Basic Fuzz Face kit may be a better option. There are different versions available for this kit, including a combination of Russian and AC121/5/8/AC188 (PNP Germanium) transistors, as well as the JoBo version with PNP Germanium transistors from Russia. If you prefer to use your own transistors, there is also a version without transistors included. The basic circuit comes in two flavors: Original and Roger Mayer Hendrix Modded. The Mayer modded version has a slightly higher output level, which is recommended for germanium versions that typically have lower gain. The kit also offers the option to use a Reverse Log (C) taper pot for the fuzz control, which is said to be better. Additionally, the board includes extra spots for making JB or EJ versions, but you will need to source your own parts for the EJ version until FuzzDog provides them.
