Germanium Treble Booster Module by Build Your Own Clone (BYOC)

The Germanium Treble Booster Module is a pedal module that is based on the Dallas Rangemaster. It features a hand-selected PNP NOS Germanium transistor, which gives it a warm and gritty tone, similar to a fuzz but not quite. The module also includes an on-board internal bias trimpot, allowing you to adjust the temperature to your preference.

One of the standout features of the Germanium Treble Boost module is its use of the Crown Jewel’s internal negative 9-volt power supply. PNP Germanium transistors are typically used in positive ground circuits, like the original Rangemaster, Fuzz Face, and Tonebender pedals. They don’t work well in negative ground circuits and can cause compatibility issues with other pedals.

To overcome this, the Germanium Treble Boost Module utilizes the negative 9-volt power supply to trick the PNP transistor into thinking it has a positive ground, even though it actually has a negative ground. This allows the module to retain its tone, reduce noise, and work seamlessly with your standard power supply and other pedals.
