Based On: Moog-based boost

MugShot by Madbeanpedals

The discontinued Moog MF-104 BBD delay is highly sought after and expensive, so it would be great to create a clone of it. However, in the meantime, the input boost section of the MF-104 can be used as a standalone pedal. It is a simple and affordable build that provides a wide range of clean boost. To make it more versatile, a couple of modifications can be made to trim the bass and roll off some of the treble.

The controls for this pedal are as follows:

1. Drive: This controls the amount of boost applied.
2. Trim: In the stock position (counterclockwise), it remains unchanged. However, turning it clockwise reduces the low-end frequency boost.
3. Tone: In the counterclockwise position, it rolls off some of the top-end frequencies. Turning it clockwise provides full brightness.

By experimenting with these controls, you can customize the boost pedal to suit your preferences and the specific characteristics of your guitar and amplifier. It is a cost-effective alternative to the MF-104 and can provide a significant boost to your sound. Give it a try or modify it further to create your own version.
