The Pink Plexi Distortion is a compact pedal that is a clone of a famous purple Marshall-in-a-Box pedal. It offers a high-gain distortion sound in a small package. The volume control adjusts the overall output volume, and the frequency control allows for tone shaping with a good range of filtering options. However, the gain control has a design flaw where there is very little change in gain across most of the turn, and then a sudden increase in gain in the last few degrees. This flaw has been difficult to improve upon, but there is an option to have a modded version with a Reverse Log potentiometer instead of a linear one. It’s important to note that this pedal is not a quiet circuit, and some noise may be present when playing softly or with the guitar volume turned down. However, this pedal is designed for hard-rock and metal genres, so playing quietly may not be a concern for its intended use.
