The Reasonably Good Mangler is a modified version of The Great Destroyer pedal. It is designed to create intense and chaotic tones by ripping apart your original tone. By winding back the Starve and Tone pots, you can achieve a nasty and splatty overdrive sound, perfect for creating a doomy atmosphere. When you bring the Starve and Tone controls into the mix, the pedal can produce spluttering gated effects and even all-out oscillation. It is versatile and can be used with various instruments such as bass, synth, and drum machines. In addition to the original four controls, this FuzzDog version of the pedal offers an optional fifth knob. This knob allows you to further tweak your sound and explore even stranger sonic territories. However, it should be noted that using the fifth knob requires nimble fingers and can result in a tight and subtle effect. If you prefer simplicity, it is recommended to keep a fixed resistor in place and stick with the four-knob version. But if you enjoy fine-tuning your sound, the fifth knob option is available for you to experiment with.
