The Recurring Nightmare – Modulated Delay is a unique delay pedal that offers a range of creative and experimental features. It is based on the Echo Dream and features a PT2399-based delay circuit with Time and Feedback controls. The Time control can push the IC beyond its capabilities, resulting in dirty and nasty repeats. In addition to the delay circuit, the pedal also includes a fuzz circuit that can add filth and distortion to the mix. The fuzz can be blended with the delay signal to create interesting and unique tones. The real fun begins with the modulation section. The delayed signal can be subjected to modulation effects with control over Speed, Depth, and Waveform Shape. This allows for the creation of spacey and weird sounds that can add a new dimension to your playing. The Blend control allows you to balance the dry signal with the modulated signal, and there is even a switch to completely remove the original signal, leaving only the strange and modulated sounds in the mix.To power the modulation chip, the pedal includes an internal charge pump that converts the standard 9V supply to 18V. This ensures that the modulation effects work properly, as the chip requires 10V+ to function. Please note that the kit can be purchased without the XR2206 IC, but sourcing your own IC comes with the risk of getting a faulty one.
