Glitchee by Madbeanpedals

The Glitchee is a unique effects pedal that combines the EQD Bit Commander with a Seamoon Funk Machine to create distortion, octave down, and sub-octave tones with a dynamic filter. The idea for the Glitchee came from wanting to do something different with the Bit Commander, and the addition of a dynamically driven filter seemed like a good fit.

The development process for the Glitchee was a bit challenging, with multiple teardowns and re-dos. Eventually, a modded Seamoon Funk Machine was chosen as the filter and envelope control, and a trick was used to make the LM386 double as the distortion generator and envelope detector.

The Glitchee lives up to its name, producing glitchy effects. The octave generation has a unique decay that adds to its charm. Overall, it is a fun pedal to play with.

The controls on the Glitchee include:

– DRIVE: Sets the volume of the distorted tones.
– LOW, SUB: Controls the volume of one and two octaves down, respectively.
– BLEND: Adjusts the mix between the clean and dynamic filter paths.
– VOL: Sets the total output volume.
– SENSE: Determines the envelope response and sensitivity to pick attack.
– FREQ: Controls the filter response and acts as a gain control for the filter.
– DECAY: Originally intended to set different decay responses in the envelope filter, but later changed to trim the low end from the filter in the Up position. Down position provides normal response.

Overall, the Glitchee offers a unique and versatile range of effects with its combination of distortion, octave down, sub-octave, and dynamic filter capabilities.
