Schematics, circuits, PCBs and veroboards for guitar effects pedals.
The Retrograde is a fuzz pedal that has been updated with a new PCB design. The pedal features a pronounced octave effect generated by an inexpensive transformer. There is a switch that allows you to turn off the octave effect. The most pronounced upper octave is achieved by using the guitar’s neck pickup with the tone rolled off and playing around the 12th fret. Chords or rolling down the volume knob on the guitar can create ring modulator type sounds. Double-stop bends produce a “dive-bomb” effect. The controls on the pedal include a volume knob, a fuzz knob, and an octave/fuzz switch. The volume knob adjusts the output level, the fuzz knob controls the amount of fuzz, and the octave/fuzz switch selects between octave up and fuzz only modes. The fuzz-only mode increases the volume output. There is a mistake with the I/O connections on the PCB, where the effect input and input jack are transposed. The wiring diagram has been updated to reflect the correction.
