The Super Skwisher is a compressor pedal based on the Ross Compressor and Dynacomp. It is an updated version of the Skwisher with multiple options. The pedal can be built with either the original CA3080 IC or the more readily available LM13700 IC, both of which sound identical. The stock version of the pedal has two knobs for Level and Sustain, but you can also add an optional toggle switch for the Mark Hammer variable recovery mod.For even more tweakability, you can build the 4-knob version, which adds pots for Clip and Attack in addition to the Level and Sustain controls. The compression effect of the pedal is not a priority for FuzzDog HQ, but after testing it, they found that it produced a chiming tone similar to Mark Hollis’ later Talk Talk sound.Note that the 4-knob version requires 150KB pots, which are not available. The kit will come with 250KB pots instead, which provide more adjustment than necessary. However, you have the option to put resistors in parallel with the pots to achieve a 150K resistance, although this will change the control taper. FuzzDog HQ will try to source vertical-mount 150KB pots in the future if possible.
